This was my favourite pub that we visited in Rye, with an excellent beer selection that is varied enough to suit most tastes (I may or may not have tried almost all of the ones on offer over the course of 3 visits. Dark and atmospheric, we found it to be a great place to hide away on a wet and windy afternoon evening. Atmosphere: 5
It was a very wet and cold day and we went in to warm up and dry off but, unfortunately, it was cold, dark and damp inside too. We asked if the fire could be started but it wasn't. We left after a while because we were cold (we could see our breaths). Real shame.
Very expensive. £7 for a glass of a 175ml wine that what served. I mentioned to a member of the bar staff that there was a lot of water in the ladies toilet and didn't even receive an acknowledgement of thanks Price per person: £10–20 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Recommended dishes: Beer Garden
Great traditional 'wet ' pub with great beers and wine. Lively bar and a satisfying wood fire. Bar snacks (heffty pork pies). Large beer garden. It 's definitely my kind of pub. Price per person: £10–20 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Beer Garden
