We ended up leaving after 15 minutes of waiting. We understand food may take time, but a menu should be provided within a reasonable timeframe. We were disappointed with the service and would not recommend this place.
Lovely building situated just near the train station with a large yard to the front and a courtyard indoors. Two little gift shops are situated within, with a fairly normal array of gifts to browse. It's no longer a tea rooms, just a gift shop.
During a recent visit, we found out that the gift shop no longer has a cafe. However, it does have a fantastic selection of gifts in a prime location.
If there just go and have tea , delightful small place, very polite people serving , lovely scones , tea , coffee . Having ordered all that we then saw the menu and it was full of a great selection of dishes Would I go again YES Inside and outside eating
We arrived too late for the coffee and cake but did look around the gift shop and made some purchases. There were some very unusual pop up cards and other unusual gifts together with some really good old fashioned toys and games. It was nice to see something different and not all the same stuff you see everywhere. I know it was a Monday but the shop closed at 16.30 which was a surprise but then again, this is Pickering. Be careful on the stairs, they are a little on the steep side. Safe, but steep. This shop is definitely worth the time to visit.
