Thank you! We came here with my friend and her daughter, who had a birthday. When asked, we were made a special bifana for the birthday, and the service was just so friendly. There is also a book exchange in the backroom, free wifi and it is in a central location.

We popped in here after myself and daughter wandered around. Nice relaxed, clean, English spoken. We had bottle of water and coke 2€, food looked nice , certainly very reasonable, adequate for breakfast to lunch, sells beers wines etc.

I visit this cafe restaurant nearly every day, mostly for coffee and a spinach and cheese pastry, but have had full lunches there and a few times dinner when they were open for evening meals. They do fantastic fish and chops on Fridays .

Good place to stop for coffee. Very central and has good book exchange too. Never eaten here but take away cakes are nice.

We had a few things to do one Friday morning in Messines, stopped for coffee and tea at Cafe Avenida (not Avenoda) and discovered that they had fish n chips from 12. So ran the rest of our errands and turned up just after noon, passed our tea and coffee cups still on the table outside, and went inside for lunch. After ten minutes or so, the waitress deigned to take our order. There was a smoker in the restaurant, and when I questioned this, was told that it was fine, they had an excellent extractor system. However, when there are several open doors, smoke will blow onto nearby diners no matter how good the extraction system is. There was also a TV playing rock music videos very loud, and when I asked if it could please be turned down, was told No, it couldn't. So we weren't in a terribly good mood when our lunch finally came. The mushy peas were hot from the microwave, but the chips were not even warm, and my fish even had a few cold spots. When we said our meal wasn't hot, we were told that the fat probably wasn't hot enough when the food went in, with the implication being what did we expect being the first customers. No apology, no offer of a replacement order of chips, let alone fish. We had to ask for ketchup, the only thing that might have made the meal palateable, and were eventually given about a teaspoon of ketchup in a little dish, for two people. Dreadful service. If I could, I wouldn't even give it one star.
