I don 't know if they 're skimping in a post-pandemic era, with stagflation running rampant, or what the deal is. Edit: visited in '24 and their stuff is back to their high standards. I got the Taquitos with everything.
Worst Chile Relleno burrito I have ever had. Size was great but then you bite in and get a mouthful of shredded orange cheese and shredded lettuce. No beans or rice. The burrito consisted of the small Chile and lettuce. There were a few small overcooked bell peppers toward the end (cause my husband refused to let food go to waste) $11 bucks for shredded cheese/iceberg lettuce burrito? no thanks.
This place has apparently been here for a long time and has a lot of regular customers. It's easy to see why. This was my first visit and I wasn't all that hungry. I got taquitos, which were delicious. I especially liked the potato.
Live in Palm Springs and anytime we visit San Diego.....El Indio Mexican Restaurant is a must stop! Our whole Arizona family loves the food after a day at the beach!
This is what’s inside a chile relleno, processed yellow cheese, disgusting, this food is for the uncultured tourists that never comes back and an insult to Mexican food
