The ambience is very modern and hip with nice wall arts and surf-culture decors. The servers were really bright, polite and helpful. We got our coffees immediately. Then we ordered the Monterey scramble plate and French toast stuffed with mascarpone cheese and mangoes. The Monterey scramble plate came with beans, rice and a small portion of spicy salsa. Thescramble was really well done and the rice and beans were very well cooked and well seasoned. But let me tell you, I have never had salsa that perfect. The stuffed French toast was mildly sweet and fluffy. The mangoes they used were reallysweet and went well with the slightly savory cheese making it a perfect combination. All in all, a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this place.
Y?all, Fig Tree is busy, busy during brunch times. If you don?t want to experience a long wait be sure to get there early OR plan to walk around the Gaslamp District until you get your table confirmation via text. Anyway, inside is super cute. They have a nice menu with a few vegan options too. They also have a little bit of seating outside.
I usually love the PL location so we walked down the block to this one. It was as short staffed for a holiday week. One waitress one host and one bartender. The chef had to bus tables and collect checks. They?re hard working tho! Despite the wait they were very friendly and never paused a second to keep the energy going. Hope they?re getting paid well!
Pretty good soy chorizo and eggs. Great kombuchcraft and juice shots. Nice atmosphere and staff but the food was a fairly long wait. Otherwise I?d give it 5 stars
I had the most wonderful server this morning, that recommended the most delicious breakfast special! I sat at the outside bar and enjoyed the energy from all the Padre fans making their way to the ballpark along with a great cup of coffee! The chilaquilas were outstanding with just the perfect amount of flavor and heat, topped with fresh cilantro. After a hiatus from work travel, this was the tastiest dish I've had since hitting the road again this year!
