This is where the German writer carl zuckmayer was often eaten, who was made a citizen of honor of Saas-Fee as his love for Saas-Fee was great.Sor buman, who speaks very well French, will make you the best welcome. a beautiful address in a wooden chalet.
Every year for Christmas parties, we come to eat at least one evening with family. mr zuckmayer recognizes us from one year on the other what is very pleasant. The service is very good. I especially recommend their cheese fondue which is divine! The restaurant is very well placed, in the middle of the city. I recommend!
As admirers of the Austrian writer Carl Zuckmayer (note, this is the correct spelling!,) we headed for this restaurant, to see what the author of "The Blue Angel" ate when he and his wife settled in Saas Fee in the 1950's. These dishes proved very good, notably a Grisons barley soup that was rich and creamy, a cheese fondue that was perfectly blended, and venison from the new hunting season ("la chasse" as they call it in Switzerland.) We were lucky in coming off-season, because service was efficient in the evening. And if it is not, each booth has a little bell you can press to summon the waiter!
The view is incredible, the ride to get to the restaurant is of the healthy. the service is attentive and fast. The food is good but it can aspire to more, it would come back
The specials are nothing exceptional and the service is slow. The menu is diverse with good options and the food was not bad. I guess I was expecting better.
