I've been exploring different places because I've recently developed an obsession with Chicken Tikka Masala, and out of all the restaurants I've tried, this one stands out. The portions are generous, and I ordered a side of Basmati Rice, Naan, and I’m also trying the Gulab Jamun. I'm a very happy customer!
I absolutely love this restaurant! I've been on the hunt for a good Indian place in the area and have tried several, but this one is my favorite by far. The flavors are fantastic, and I appreciate that I can adjust the spice level to my liking. The Chicken Tikka Masala is creamy and delicious without being overly heavy. The Naan is soft and warm, and the portion sizes are quite generous. Considering all of this, I find the prices to be very reasonable.
The food at India Oven is absolutely delicious and perfectly spiced. It’s also simple to request a higher spice level if you prefer. I really appreciate the variety of dishes they offer. However, as I age, I've noticed my sensitivity to salt has increased, so occasionally the saltiness can feel a bit much. The easy solution for that is just to drink more water, because there's no way I'm giving up on India Oven. It's truly fantastic!
We ordered take out and while picking up the food, the dull atmosphere of the restaurant coupled with a smell of old recycled oil that has percolated to every inch of this establishment set the stage for things to come. That tempered our expectations and the dry tasteless chicken makhani, undercooked rice and chewy roti summed up the abyss this restaurant has hit over the course of its long and seemingly arduous journey that hopefully can come to an end. In short, mediocre food at a premium price. Avoid, unless hunger is an impending calamity and this is the only place left to eat.
I arrived late to the restaurant, but they accommodated me without hesitation, and the service was both attentive and prompt. I ordered naan and navratan korma, and I have to say it was excellent. I don't remember the dish typically containing paneer, so that was a delightful surprise. While I usually expect it to have nuts, their version didn't include any, but it was still incredibly creamy and just slightly spiced. The naan was freshly baked, and the rice was cooked to perfection. This place is conveniently located near hotels, Natomas shopping, and the arena, so be sure to add it to your list of places to dine. Delicious!
