This was old school Mexican food, with lots of sauce and lots of cheese. The menu was extensive, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was comfortable. I liked that fact that when I ordered a Margarita, I wasn 't asked, 'What kind? ' I was served a lime Margarita without question.
Good authentic mexican food. I have been eating here for years (includes the original location) and have never been disappointed. The food is extremely heavy and terrible for you but it tastes amazing. This is partly due to the fact that much of the cooking is done with Lard. It may sound gross but it tastes amazing.
My thoughts in three words . . .. GO EAT THERE!!!!<br/ <br/ My family and I have been a fan of the Luis's food since pretty much since its inception. The brand has been a staple in our vocabulary for years. Since the days on Alhambra, to move to downtown location to the current K Street restaurant. We have followed the delicious food and spirits. Our favorite food in the beef burrito with extra gravy. Its heaven in your mouth along with the tasty rice and delicious beans. AMAZING!!! <br/ <br/ In all honesty I can't say anything bad about Luis Jr.s. Its the whole package. Great Value! Great Food! Great Service! You'll not be let down. Enjoy!
Awesome. Yes, it's a bit pricey considering the lack of upscale ambiance, but very good food. We shared a large 4 item combo and it was great quality, not a gut bomb like a lot of Mexican food.
