Ray's Chicken And Fish - Sacramento

Fantastic fried fish! It's not overly oily or heavily battered like many other places. I tried it for the first time with a friend, and the chef/owner was kind enough to let us sample some sides we were curious about. Plus, you get a great amount of food for the price!

The food was amazing! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family if they're in the area. Make sure to stop by for a great meal. Thank you!

The fish nuggets were decent and nicely sized, which wasn’t a problem. The shrimp was tasty. I recommend skipping the fries, as the fish and shrimp alone have plenty of oil. The cornbread was $2, but it wasn’t very impressive and tasted a bit stale. Overall, I left feeling satisfied.

Catfish, red snapper, crab cakes, 8 piece chicken wings with mild bbq sauce, fries and potato salad. Deanna who served us who was the hostesses with the mostest! The fish was seasoned exceptionally well. Cajun tartar sauce with the fries, the best!!!Best fries I've had. The crab cakes were my favorite! Fresh and crispy. I don't usually like potato salad...but this one tasteshomemade out of my grandmother's kitchen. Will be back

They put carrots in the gumbo but no okra, rue or filé. The red beans has zero seasonings... no onion, garlic, pepper, or salt. The rice was gummy overcooked. Not very good at Soul Food. Next time I'll try a seafood bag.
