The crab cheese appetizers looked tempting, but upon biting into them, I detected an unusual scent and taste that I couldn't quite identify, and the filling was simply cream cheese. The almond boneless chicken combo had a similar off-putting smell and taste, which led me to suspect it may have been from the fryer oil. The flavor was somewhat lacking, prompting me to add extra soy sauce to my rice. The egg roll was tasty but excessively greasy, causing yellow oil to drip onto my shirt. However, the standout dish of my meal was the wonton soup. Though it differed from traditional wonton soups I've had at other Chinese restaurants, it was delicious with a vegetable twist. The prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly.
Chan's is a unique restaurant that may appear shabby chic on the outside, but don't let that deter you from going in. The owner is very friendly and the food was delicious. Even though I'm used to everything looking perfect in the tri-county area, I was pleasantly surprised by the cozy atmosphere at Chan's. The place was clean, including the bathrooms, and the prices were reasonable. They even accommodated my vegetarian daughter with a special egg roll option. I recommend giving Chan's a try, you won't regret it. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures as we were busy catching up with friends.
Chans is a fantastic restaurant that I have been visiting on and off since 1987. The food is consistently delicious, although sometimes the egg rolls are a bit too dark for my liking and I have to request a replacement. Despite this, Chans may just serve the best tasting egg rolls around. I have never had a bad meal there or disliked any dish. The flavors are excellent! The hot sour soup is also always one of the best I have had. I appreciate that they periodically add new items to the menu, including a BOK CHOY luncheon which is hard to find elsewhere.
Best egg rolls, crab cheese, veggies soup and chicken fried rice I've ever had!! One of two Chinese restaurants we ever go to in the Tri-City area.
I love coming here. The food is great. I had an issue with one of my meals but they replaced it for me.
