Pulido's Mexican - Saginaw

As a Mexican, I have to say that this is not authentic Mexican food. It's more like Tex-Mex at best. The ranchera enchiladas dinner was nothing like what you would find in a traditional Mexican restaurant. The tortillas were not properly heated and simply wrapped around the meat, which was of consistently low quality, glistening with an unnaturally shiny appearance similar to iridescent meat. While it's FDA approved, I can only imagine that Mr. Pulido would be quite disappointed. The staff here likely make better Mexican food at home than what is served in this restaurant. It feels more like a Taco Bell or a place for those who want a Mexican atmosphere without the real flavors. I'm really disappointed because I know they can do so much better than this.

The food is excellent, the staff is wonderful, and the prices are fair. I really hope they consider reopening for dinner service.

This was my first time back at this restaurant in nearly 15 years, and I really enjoyed the food. I would definitely consider returning. It’s a great small local spot, and I appreciated how well spaced out the tables were, which created a comfortable atmosphere even when it was busy.

Awful experience! We used to visit this place regularly because the food was consistently good and reasonably priced. However, we went a couple of weeks ago and the food was terrible. The chips tasted stale, as if they were fried in old oil. We won't be returning.

The food and service were quite good. However, some menu prices seemed a bit high for certain items. I understand that inflation costs are passed on to customers. It's important to be very specific when placing your order, as they follow your instructions exactly. I ordered the tamale plate with a cheese enchilada and requested queso on my tamales instead of chili. Unfortunately, when my plate arrived, my enchilada had chili on it. I should have made that clear as well; I didn't realize that the enchilada would also include chili, and the waitress didn't confirm whether I wanted it on that dish too. This was my first visit to this restaurant in almost 15 years, and overall, the food was enjoyable. I'd definitely consider returning. It’s a great little local spot, and I appreciated the spacious layout of the tables, which provided a sense of comfort even when the place was busy.
