The cashier charged me more than it was, not even used a calculator just guessed the
Me and my fiance were curious about this place since we always pass by it going to work so we went here for a quick lunch but it was a TERRIBLE IDEA ? We ordered 1 Carne Asada Pupusa, 1 Cheese pupusa, 1 pan con gallina, 1 tamale, 1 horchata and 1 guanabana juice total of $37 tip. Location was okay, there's enough parking. We're so excited at first but slowly getting disappointed. First, the tables are very dirty, have dried sauce everywhere looked like it hasn't been cleaned in a while. Second, our food took more than 40 minutes to be prepared ? And when our order was ready, they forgot that we ordered horchata so we had to pay for it again...Third, The rice had really good flavor and I was satisfied until I SAW A MAGGOT ?? (see photos below). The pupusa was okay, only had like 4 or 5 tiny pieces of meat but flavor is okay. Tamale was terrible ?it wasn't cooked right. No complain for the pan con gallina it was great! The horchata was also really good. Overall experience was bad wil not recommend this place to anyone.
Pupusas are very good here. I tried the chicharron queso pupusa the flavors were there. Enjoyed it with their salsa cortido. Parking can be a little limited but still very good spot to get pupusas!
One of the places I have gone to regularly (like 3-4x a month) for a few years. They used to have a small food cart, now they have a beautiful new truck and a store front on South 1st! The growth over 4 years alone should tell you that they do pupusas extremely well. I usually get revueltas (chicharrón/pork rinds , black beans, and cheese) with extra curtido (pickled cabbage w/ carrots, chile, and oregano) and tomato sauce, they are always made to order and super filling. My favorite part is the cheese that escapes and gets super crispy. I've tried a lot of different combinations and they've all been great. The agua de maracuyá/pasiflora/granadilla/parcha/passion fruit is my preferred drink it's refreshing and has real passion fruit. The downside is you will have to wait so if you're in a rush call in your order at least 30 minutes in advance (this was my wait the last few times). The wait is always worth it and I always look forward to my next meal here!
