Au Vieux Chaudron

I gave these guys another try because my friend wanted to come here. Where to begin... I still find the environment too wide, empty and cold... no ambiance. I still find the prices too high for the quality of food, service and surroundings. The service...is still bad: none or too much from too many! My plate was cold. Sent it back. Came back with worst “fries” than the ones sent back. Had a rebate card for my order... it was applied on my friend’s bill!

Too long of a wait for appetizers, group of entrees arrived. Once those lucky people finished the other arrived. Bad timing. Main course arrived it must of been sitting in the kitchen for a while it was warm on the cool side....However the food was excellent and the presentation was awesome. The reason for my average rating is focused on the service. The restaurant was not overly crowed at the time. The decor and ambiance was excellent it provided a welcome feeling when you walk in.

We were four friends to celebrate my birthday. I took the table d’hôte a potage Cressi “carrot soup”, a braised beef ravioli in a beef reduction, a cheese cake and a coffee. My friend took a double chicken brochette and the others shared a seafood...platter of lobster, scampi’s, shrimps and rice with garlic butter. The bread was hot and butter good. The wine chosen was excellent and the waiter fare. The chicken brochette was anemic and the texture weird. My pasta lacked cooking and the reduction too salty. The soup needed cream. The sea food plate was enormous but the food lacked some cooking. An over priced dinner for four I am sure was invited. I love their pizza but not much else. Sorry it could be a great place to eat.

We just moved from the city to the country. What i found a challenge was to find a good restaurant for my fav comfort food and nice supper times. This place gives you both great food and service. One of the good places to eat...or order out. Pizza was excellent.

I enjoy eating here when can. Its a restaurant that's been part of my town since a long time. Brought my wife here last night and we both enjoyed our supper. I was pleasantly supprised/impressed the place was crowded last night and yet we were...served quickly. My wife ordered the chicken brochet and i had there pizza. (Special du vieux chaudron) wasn't long to receive our plates. I have always enjoyed there pizzas and again i was more than satisfied. My wife as well enjoyed her meal. Of course we'll be back !
