Le Chabotte - Saint-Bon-Tarentaise

Years ago, this place use to be great, we last visited 5 years ago it was terrible. This year because of its new name, we gave it a try. The welcome was perfectly friendly as was our waiter, however I did notice that the manageress was the same lady who was incredibly rude last visit. This time there was no rudeness, but the service was chaotic with many tables complaining about receiving wrong dishes or the delay in all food arriving. The menu was very limited, we hoped this was a good sign, but nothing was anything but average at a far from average price. We didn’t have any major issues; it did take about 10 minutes from the first main meal to the last being served. They need to make a lot of changes get decent management or they will be changing the name again soon.

For a number of years we had dinner at La Chabotte and it was wonderful. Great atmosphere, service and food. Then they started to cram in far too many tables so became very noisy and cramped. Quality of food has also suffered so we have not returned for the past three years. Maybe it has improved and returned to what it used to be like?

Food is good but no more. 1 star is because of the “director” that is more than naughty, and that addresses people when there is interest .. the server and waitresses on the other hand are the level, bravo has them!
