Le Caravel Cafe - Saint-Cast-le-Guildo

This was my first dining experience at the Caravel in a couple of years. Whilst the menu is small, or main courses to choose from, what was served was very good, freshly prepared and well presented. The dining area looked spotlessly clean and...despite the front of house speaking very little English and us speaking very little French we got what we ordered. For me the star was the dessert, some form of cappuccino style dessert served in a glass very yummy indeed. We look forward to returning to the restaurant soon.

Le Caravel is very convenient for a good breakfast. The croissants orange juice coffee menu item is appreciated and saves a walk in to town. You an also order croissants there for collection the next morning

We were feeling a bit lazy and wanted to eat close to the marina. There are restaurants on the ground floor of the block of flats and the Caravel is the best by a country mile. We hadn't booked but we managed to get...a table for inside adjacent to the bar. The Menu is short but adequate. We both had a dozen crevettes as a starter followed by a fish main course (red mullet was one can't recall the other) and a dessert and a coffee. All of which, including a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, came to Euro ex tip. Both main courses were very good, presented well, and tasted brilliant. Despite our lack of French and their lack of English service was acceptable.

This restaurant is excellent, we went there last year it hasn't changed it was good then and still is very good. We had the menu of the day.It was delicious. We have tried the other restaurants on the port we find them the best .....Sundays...they are open all day, meals at meal times then coffees and drinks then meal in the evening .........fantastic, the young girl who served us last year was working again this time. One point I will make is there was a huge dog in the restaurant , owned by a couple eating there. It really isn't good seeing a dog scratching and shaking its hair everywhere, good that it wasn't beside us.

We visited here many times during our stay in St Cast. The gaufres were amazing, the chocolate sauce was delicious. It was strange as you couldn't order a gaufre until so the time wasn't always practical.
