La Presqu'ile - Saint-Étienne

We visited because it was a Sunday and we had nowhere else to eat. Our waitress made our visit quite entertaining although I appreciate that isn't why you visit a restaurant. She wasn't very professional but she was very friendly and helpful. The language barrier was a problem, but we got round it as best as possible. The menu was pretty good and unlike some of the previous reviews, the food was really good. We both had no complaints about it and the view of the valley from the window was breathtaking. Overall the restaurant looks a little unloved and it seems to struggle for identity. It could deliver so much more. At first glance it looks quite upmarket but when you look closer it looks very tired. The bill was quite high but not unreasonable given the location but I think you would expect higher levels of service for this price. Our final experience as we left was walking through the laundry which was drying on the chairs in the bar area. We found it quite funny especially as there clothes amongst it but again not very professional.

Very pleasant setting. restaurant with a very good quality price. The service is excellent. magnificent view over the gorges of the loire and the village of chambles.

Very good surprise, beautiful frame and beautiful view. reception sober but impeccable service. good menu of the day , neat cuisine and lovely dessert . very good value for money has advise to the tourists passing also for its ideal situation.
