Located in a nondescript strip mall off the main highway, La Fournée used to only offer catering services. Despite arriving late, the restaurant was bustling with diners enjoying a simple menu featuring barley soup, a choice of ragoût or roast beef, and Boston cake for dessert. When I requested the traditional Québécois dish soupe-aux-pois, they kindly made it for me from their to-go version. The meal was promptly served, generously portioned, with sides of mashed potatoes and rice. A small salad accompanied the main course, and the dessert was a delightful conclusion to the meal. La Fournée prides itself on its daily-changing menu, all of which is prepared in-house. I look forward to returning for lunch on my next trip to Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, and I highly recommend that you do the same.
The meal was very good and of excellent quality! The price was fair, which is great for when you don't feel like cooking.
This restaurant is a complete ripoff. From the extremely rude French waiter who despised tourists, it was a terribly unpleasant experience.
