Fantastic food and friendly staff. Who could ask for more! We had meat loaf (but nothing like an American one) and seafood Lasagne. Very special!
Good experience of swedish specialities, without being too far to be appreciated by french people. The place is not to big : better to reserve, because of faithful foreigners in Saint Germain en Laye!
We went for the lunch menu, 20eur for 2 courses. Was lovely to sit outside in the sun on the little terrace part. The vehicle traffic might bother some, but we didn't mind at all. Service from the lady was great, she works hard to make sure customers are comfy. 1 starter we had was delicious, fresh and innovative, the asaparagus, pickled fish and egg. For main we all had the pork square, it came with way too many chickpeas, salad and some root vegetables. Not totally sure all the flavours worked really... and if there's one thing I was disappointed with, it was the broccoli. I hate frozen broccoli. The pork was a good portion, with some of ours being too dry and overcooked and others tender and moist...a mixed bag. Pavlova for dessert wasn't bad, a bit chewy... could've done with a knife to cut through it. As we went for a birthday, we were a bit disappointed (expected better quality ingredients and a main meal a little more refined).
Such a change to find something truly different in Saint Germain, where restaurant serve up the usual fare. There are some very interesting Swedish dishes that are well worth trying. The overall cost is also reasonable.
