We ordered the burrata appetizer, which was delicious, but were disappointed with the Carnivore platter for two. The platter contained a chicken leg, pork shank, and duck drumstick, with no option to choose the meats. For $55 per person, we expected higher quality cuts of meat, but instead received less than desirable options. Ultimately, we paid $110 for two chicken legs, an overcooked shank, and six duck drumsticks. We were very unhappy with the quality of the meats and feel the chef could have done a better job in selecting the assortment for the platter. This experience was disappointing, and we do not plan on returning to the restaurant.
I went to this restaurant for my birthday and I was amazed. Maybe I should have mentioned that it was a special day, haha, but regardless, the food was outstanding. I couldn't decide between the fish and chips or the deconstructed Coquille St. Jacques, and the waiter, who was fantastic (unfortunately, I didn't catch his name), highly recommended the Coquille. I'm glad he did, as the scallops and shrimp were perfectly cooked, juicy, and tender. My wife ordered the bavette with chimichurri, and once again, the meat was cooked perfectly medium-rare and juicy. I appreciated the small detail of them making their own butter and experimenting with flavors. And the cheesecake... oh my goodness, the cheesecake was amazing! The atmosphere was relaxed, and I enjoyed the old-school rap playing in the background. The service was quick and impeccable.
We ordered the Planche à Piocher, and were not impressed with the quality or quantity. The first serving included 3 arrancini, 3 shrimp tacos, and 2 salmon wafers for 3 people. When we inquired about the discrepancy in the number of salmon wafers, we were told that it was normal, which seemed odd to us. The arrancini and shrimp tacos were decent, but the salmon wafers were very disappointing. For the second service, we ordered ribs, chicken, and ribeye. The ribeye was fine, but the chicken was dry. The ribs, however, were some of the worst I have ever tasted. They lacked flavor and were served cold or lukewarm. Despite informing the waitress that we were not satisfied with the food, there was no improvement in quality. The atmosphere was alright, but the place felt cramped and the music did not match the vibe of a bistro. Overall, considering we spent $150 for two people on wine, appetizers, and mains, I expected much better. While we had a decent time and the service was good, I would not recommend this restaurant and do not plan on returning. There are better options available in the same price range in the area.
As always a brilliant meal! The service was impeccable and the food was wonderful. The chef's choice plate is what we always order when we come here and it has never, ever disappointed!Food: 5/5
Lovely service, and food. The only complaint is the table for two persons. Pretty small, I didn't have space to put my glass of wine every time I was taking to drink.Food: 5/5
