Etchebaster - Saint-Jean-de-Luz

This is one of the oldest sweets shops in st jean de luz. their products are amazing, but we have a special soft spot for their hot chocolate, especially the dark chocolate version instead of the one with milk chocolate.

I have often been in st. jean de luz and always wanted to try something from this bakery, but the line was often too long. this last trip was during a week and there was no line. I tried the Pistachios breakfast Gateau...Basque, who had eaten like a piece of heaven. it was light and airy and the aromen were incredible. I only bought one and wished I had bought more. I'll be back again and again.

They order drinks and choose whatever they want from the wonderful display in the beautiful shop. it will not be charged for eating.

La meilleure pâtisserie de la région. Dans la même famille depuis 1907, soit la 5 eme génération. Tout est beau á l'œil et au palais. Crème au beurre légère, savarin aéré. Viennoiseries au beurre parfaites. Gâteaux basque aux pommes ou aux cerises extras. Á ne pas manquer. Surtout on peu consommer sur place et craquer un peu plus.

Il paraît qu'il s'agit d'un lieu incontournable pour le gâteau basque. Quelle déception : gâteau rassis, avec très peu de crème.Bref si il ne s'agit pas d'un accident : fuyez !
