The restaurant is partly why we always return the food is delicious, the restaurant is old world lovely and the view spectacular. We have had a few different servers and each time it was a good experience.
Located in the far north-eastern part of the country, this auberge offers stunning views of the St. Lawrence River from its dining room. It is a must-visit, especially during the beautiful Fall season when the surrounding colors are at their peak. The dining room provides full service, and English-speaking guests will have no trouble being accommodated. The auberge also offers spacious rooms with private bathrooms. The staff is courteous and welcoming, making for a pleasant stay.
On our trip to PEI we diverted from the main highway to follow 132 along the river through Quebec, it took us trough small picturesque villages and beautiful scenery. Finding ourselves growing hungry we came upon the Restaurant at the Hotel Auberge du Fauborg , the dining room was magnificent replete with massive wood carvings and huge windows to enjoy the sunset. The food was excellent and the staff were so accommodating to us even though our French was sadly atrocious. This is as fine a dining experience I have had, enjoyed in a comfortable almost rustic atmosphere. A completely unexpected treat to begin our vacation.
We have dined at this restaurant more than a dozen times, and each time the food has been amazing. The dinner options are delicious and the breakfast buffet is fantastic.
The restaurant has a stunning view and is worth a visit, but beyond that, our experience was lacking. Our room was outdated and missing basic amenities such as a clock, coffee maker, fridge, and hair dryer, which are typically expected in a 3-star hotel. Ice was only available from the reception and the only Wi-Fi access was in the lobby. Despite these shortcomings, the breathtaking view and excellent staff made up for it.
