Depending on the time of day, you can either order at the counter or with a waitress at your table, although it can be unclear at times. The service is a bit slow, but always friendly. Don't forget to grab a yellow ticket at the counter when you enter, as you'll need it to leave the parking lot.
This quaint breakfast café bistro in the heart of old St Jean sur Richelieu near the waterfront is a great spot for a lunch break while biking along the Richelieu river park. However, be prepared for a longer wait than usual as the service is slower compared to other breakfast places in the Plateau area. Despite the slow service, the breakfast options are delicious, especially the Egg Benedict. It may take some time, but it will definitely be worth the wait!
We visited a casual neighborhood restaurant that offered friendly service. We chose to try the special of the day, which was pasta filled with ricotta and topped with tomato sauce. While the dish was hearty, it lacked refinement. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't exceptional either. It's hard to say if this meal accurately reflects the restaurant's usual cooking and presentation, but it didn't leave us eager to come back and find out.
We eat here whenever we are in St-Jean early in the day. It is absolutely top quality. The food is first class and the service outstanding (and bilingual). If you get the chance to eat here, ask for the special. You can't go wrong. During good weather the terrace is a must, a little slice of southern France in downtown St-Jean.
Very pretty little bistro that seems to be operating familyly, the service is excellent and a very different choice of lunches...More
