Beatty and the Bistro - Saint John

It is difficult to not give Bitters a good review, but it is important to recognize that the establishment is operated by graduate students rather than professional bar or kitchen staff.

The menu at this restaurant is good, offering typical pub fare. However, the quality of the food can vary depending on who is working that day.

While exploring uptown, we decided to have lunch at this lovely little restaurant. We tried the seafood chowder, bruschetta, and coffee, and all were delicious. We definitely plan on returning in the future.

Just had the famous Beatty Beastro Club Sandwich...it was on fresh homemade bread with thick slices of chicken breast and cheddar...so good with a light glass of wine.

The food and service were once amongst the best in the city. Place is starting to look run down, service is beyond slow and quality of food is average at best. I hope they can turn it around because I would never recommend it now and I once recommended it a lot.
