Contribuisci feedback11/26/2022 My wife and I recently moved to the area and have been looking forward to partaking of the local fare. My wife got the catfish poboy with homemade bread butter pickes and homemade comeback aoli. I had the brisket plate with potato salad and collard greens. We shared and found each other’s meal as fantastic as our own. The crowning glory was the homemade red velvet cake and the homemade brown sugar praline cake (which was fresh from the oven and still warm! . The atmosphere is fresh and inviting and the staff has that good ole Southern hospitality (of course! . Can’t wait to savor the rest of the menu! We will definitely be making The Walking Pig a regular stop to dine. Kid-friendliness: Very family oriented. Great kids’ menu. Parking: Easy and wide diagonal parking in front and along both sides of the street Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair access from the street to the sidewalk. Restaurant is one level with wide entry door and low threshold.
Fantastic food ! Catfish PoBoy and a brisket lunch were delicious! Had to get desert to go the praline cake was still warm! We will be back!!! Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30
We received a very warm welcome and excellent service! The crab cakes were delicious, and I really liked the broccoli salad. The side salad I picked was just average; I wish I had gone with the vinaigrette instead of the green goddess dressing, which didn’t impress me much. Two members of our group ordered the smoked brisket, which was tasty and tender, but lacked any noticeable smoke flavor or appearance. On the other hand, others in our group really enjoyed the fries! I didn't try any dessert, but they had some intriguing options on the menu. We were informed that everything is made in-house. Overall, it's a lovely place!
I had a fantastic dining experience with delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere, complemented by truly warm and friendly staff. My personal favorite was the Brisket Melt served with a side of Broccoli Salad. The Philly Cheesesteak Po'Boy alongside Mac and Cheese was perfect for my very hungry husband! The flavors were incredible, and the portions were generous. I also discovered that the breads, sauces, and desserts are made fresh every day. This place is a gem in St. Joseph, Tensas Parish, and definitely worth the drive from Ouachita Parish! Service: Dine-in.
I was captivated by this place as soon as I walked in. The kitchen staff were busy and creating amazing aromas. The flavors truly amazed me. The Walking Pig is definitely worth a visit. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
