I would under no circumstances recommend that anyone should eat at this restaurant. I have never, ever received service as rude as that which I received here.I'm not normally the kind of person to write a critical review about somewhere. Life is generally too short to worry about places where you've had a bad experience: its better to focus your energies on places that are enjoyable. But the treatment that we received at this place requires that an exception to this rule to be made. The story of the evening is as follows. After arriving and having the opportunity to consult our menus, everyone in our four person party opted for the €30 menu. We ordered drinks to go with our meal. So far, so unremarkable. The apologetic waiter then returned to tell us that the pork (the main dish in the menu that we had chosen) was no longer available. He offered us fish as a replacement. When we pointed out that one member of the party did not eat fish, he offered us chicken instead. We accepted, and returned to our conversation. Some minutes later, the owner of the emerged from the kitchen, bristling with aggression. (I know that sounds like an odd way for the owner of a restaurant to act towards her customers, but that is the only way to describe it). She proceeded to tell us that given that we were not having the replacement that was offered (the fish), it would be necessary for us to pay a supplement. We acknowledged this point, and asked how much the supplement would be. She refused to tell us. We pointed out that they had been unable to offer what was on the menu, that it was incumbent on them to offer a replacement, and that one of our party could not eat fish. Her sole response was to say that the other three members of the party could have eaten fish. We then reiterated our willingness to pay a supplement to the menu price, and asked how much this was going to be. Five euros? Ten euros? Instead of simply telling us the price that we were going to pay for our food, her response was to ask whether finance was a problem. Assuring her that this was not the case (and highly offended by the question), we pointed out that we simply wanted to know the price that we were being asked to pay for our food. The owner then proceeded to launch into a tirade about how (1) this was a public holiday and they had been very busy; (2) we had said we were bringing six people but only four had come (this was true, as the new parents in our group had been required to stay at the hotel to look after their sick one-year-old); and (3) how she had been required to turn away lots of business in order to accommodate us. (I should point out at this point that of the 12-14 tables in the restaurant, about four were occupied. Our disbelieving glances around the restaurant in response to madam's comments did not seem to improve her mood.)We told her once again that all we wanted to know was how much extra she wanted us to pay. With a shrug, and still bristling with aggression, she returned to the kitchen. We promptly paid for our drinks and left. We ended up having a very nice evening at a hole in the wall pizza place just down the street.I can honestly say I've never experienced anything like this. It was not as if we had complained about anything. The owner of the restaurant simply decided to pick a fight with her customers, for no good reason. Never, ever go here.
