We had lunch , got the daily menu and the fish was frozen the vegetables too. Better to spend couple of euro more but eat something real .
While strolling the lovely beach walk nearby the Holiday Inn at the airport (Nice), we saw many inviting restaurants and unfortunately we chose the wrong one. It was pleasant looking with a nice view of the water, but there were serious shortcomings with the food and wine. There was a limited choice of wines and they seemed unreasonably expensive. The featured food was seafood and the shrimp dish we had was totally overcooked. There were a couple of sides that also were overcooked and too salty (potatoes) to eat. I would definitely look at a different restaurant as this was an unpleasant experience.
We have eaten at this restaurant several times in the past and rated it as one of our favourites for lunch. We therefore decided to take some french friends there and decided to have the set lunch menu. The attitude of the waiter changed at this point.Of the three starters only one was offered as the others were not on the menu. On asking if there was any alternative we were met with a very gruff no.One of the main courses was not on either so one of our guests had something off the main menu. The food arrived in dribs and drabs but overall the waiter was extremely rude and uninviting. We shall go there again but if we see the same waiter we will not enter.Very very disappointed especially as the usual waitresses are always so polite and kind.
We came to Saint Laurent with the objective of having lunch at Dame Nature, where I really enjoy eating when travelling in the area. Unfortunately, this restaurant was exceptionally closed on this August 20th. I checked the other options and wanted to try A La Marée which is next door... After some hesitation as I read on my phone some negative recent evaluations on Tripadvisor, we decided to try... and frankly we did not regret it !!!The welcome was warm and very professional. The best fish plates of the day were indicated as the products were very fresh. They had the unusual honesty (in restaurants) to point out that one of the other fish proposed was deepfrozen. I ordered sword fish which indeed was excellent and nicely served with several options of vegetables and potatoes (see picture). The price was extremely reasonable and we really enjoyed having lunch there... Now I know that I can - and will - return to this marina not only for Dame Nature but also for A La Marée !!!
