Cafe Le Charlys - Saint-Malo

Bien situé sur une petite place de saint malo, la terrasse est très agréable lorsque le soleil pointe le bout de son nez.Nous avons pris un cocktail et sangria. Bon point sur la quantité généreuse de rhum dans les cocktails.

Jolie placette ensoleillée, par contre l'accueil de la serveuse vraiment à revoir..... Manque d'éducation ou de formation, je ne sais pas...

We were tempted to join the group of tourists and locals together. In my mind this could be the best place in town. True enough we were attended at the right time for our orders and came back not so longtime waiting. Yet we were amazed by the surroundings, the flowers around, maybe we did not care for the time anymore. Altogether we were satisfied of the food and service here.

Charlys' bar is our "neighborhood" spot. We live just down the stairway from this bar which is located on the Place du Marché aux Légumes. This is an exceptional location with lovely flower gardens, many restaurants, and photo spots for children. Children can look through the head of a lobster or crab to have their photo taken. The bar has been a popular spot for all of the 8 years that we have been traveling to St. Malo. The waitress greets us with our usual order of "deux petits cafés et deux verres d'eau" as we find a seat. She is an exceptional waitress handling all of the tables on the terrace by herself. Both inside seating (coffee is 20 centimes less than on the terrace) and terrace seating with an awning for really warm days are available. They serve breakfast in the morning and drinks the remainder of the day.
