Gout The 2 - Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer

This is the best seafood restaurant. The Chef is incredible and the service is outstanding. Very dog friendly. Highly recommend.

Went here on the suggestion of local (French acquaintances.Excellent welcome and service. Did get a bit noisy later as the place attracted big family groups. A sensible fixed price menu that did not try to do too much. Starters very tasty, particularly the soup and the gambas which were not too big as to be unmanageable (the photos are a bit misleading! . Fish well cooked and well presented but perhaps lacking a bit of taste in the sauces. Deserts better than average though the biscuit decoration did not have a lot of taste, perhaps roasted nuts could be considered when the menu is reviewed. Excellent local wine list though top of the range with price to match. Would return for a special night out.

At arrival we were summoned to askthe responsible person for a table, the waiter could not help us. There was not enough staff, so our 2 course dinner took more than 2 hours. The shrimps were dry (probably frozen) without sauce and the other dishes had very rich buttery sauces. It took ages before our empty plates were removed. Then when we wanted to pay our bill, we had to report to the responsible guy again and had to stand in line inside to pay our bill. He did not trust his own staff for having the complete bill for us and ask twice whether we did not have dessert. Anyway a waste of money and time and unbelievable how they can treat their guests and what lack of trust they place with their staff!

Nous fréquentons cette table depuis plusieurs années et y avons toujours beaucoup apprécié la cuisine. Les deux dernières visites (juillet et août) ont été décevantes: Présentations et qualité plus à la hauteur. Sauce et accompagnements identiques pour presque tous les plats, filet de porc sec, légumes en bouillie et glaces servies à moitié fondues. Dommage ! Y a t'il eu un changement de chef en cuisine ? Espérons que le prochaine visite nous donnera l'envie d'y revenir.

Cuisine raffinée et originale. Petite carte avec des produits de saison. Beau cadre sur le port. Personnel agréable et très serviable. Le rêve tout simplement.
