Brianno's Deli Italia - Saint Paul

My friend recommended this restaurant, and it certainly lived up to expectations! I'm a huge fan of the Italiano sub, and we recently tried the meatball sub, which was fantastic. They also have a freezer section filled with homemade desserts and other dishes like lasagna, soup, and sauces. I forgot to pick up bread, but that’s available as well. The service was quick, and the staff was exceptionally friendly.

I can never resist a cannoli, especially after enjoying everything else on the menu, so I was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed; I couldn't even get through two bites. Instead of traditional cannoli filling, it seemed like they just used straight mascarpone, which resulted in a texture reminiscent of eating a block of cream cheese surrounded by some pastry. The filling lacked any lightness or fluffiness, and honestly, it could have very well been cream cheese that was still thawing out rather than mascarpone. I'm not sure if this is their usual method for preparing cannoli or if someone made a mistake while filling them, but I had to throw it away because I simply couldn't eat it. We'll definitely be back to try more sandwiches and other dishes because we enjoyed the meal overall, but if the cannoli are consistently made this way, we'll be getting our fix elsewhere.

The sandwiches here are excellent and full of flavor. As someone from Chicago, I'm accustomed to high-quality Italian delis, and this place is definitely among the best. I will certainly make a special trip back! Be sure to try the chicken salad—it's incredible—as well as the Brianno's special or an Italian beef. You won't regret it!

Some of the best Italian in the Metro. Good portion size at a great price. I've had their chicken cavatapi, eggplant based lasagna, manicotti. It's all authentic, and delicious. Service was prompt and courteous. Keep up the good work

Got the 16' pizza, sausage pepperoni!! Outstanding!! I grew up in NYC and worked at a pizza shop for a few summers. While the crust is different, the pizza is well worth the money. It will feed a lot of people and grat leftover.
