Don Panchos Bakery - Saint Paul

I always seek out Mexican bakeries when I travel, and I discovered this gem in St. Paul, Minnesota. I selected a few items to try, and the yellow cake was particularly delightful – it was light and airy with a hint of lemon. Everything shown in the picture cost just $8.50. The service was excellent, and I was really pleased that they opened early enough for us to stop by on our way out.

I always order cakes from this place for my kids' birthdays, and they always do an fantastic job. Our favorite is the tres leches cake with strawberry filling!

I really enjoy this place, especially since it's open later than most bakeries. Conveniently located right in the square among local restaurants like Boca Chica and El Mercado, it's an outstanding choice. I often indulge in familiar pastries like the custard-filled crescents and the large pan buns. While I occasionally experiment with new items, I know I can always rely on their tres leches cake with milk to be delicious.

Best Tres Leche. Simple, very modest building but best bakery hard working local people. Go get some you won't be sorry. I speak some Spanish so that helped, but don't be shy bring what you want to the counter it is very reasonably priced and delicious.
