Handsome Hog - Saint Paul

The food was tmawesome the atmosphere was fantastic and the staff was fabulous. The Chicken and Waffles were soooooo good. The chicken was tender and moist and the waffles had just the right amount of outside crispy crunch. Our server Bryan was on top of everything. You cant go wrong here.

Big fan of Handsome Hog, I have not had a bad entree. Highly recommend the place. The chef is one of the best in the twin cities.

The wife and I had the rare date night yesterday, so we had to make it count. A friend highly recommended HH, who we both trust, but I still kept my expectations in check. When I initially read the menu, everything sounded really good, but I thought there would be a larger selection to choose from. We ended up sharing a number of appetizers and sides so we could try a variety of dishes. Wow! All the different flavors with each dish. Even the mac-n-cheese with blazing hot Cheetos amazingly good (it was actually my favorite, to the point where I was scraping the crispy bits of cheese on the sides of the bowl). And the meat plate...perfect. Great specialty drinks (the Old Fashion was probably one of the best I've ever had) and a friendly waiter with a good sense of humor added to the experience. In fact, I already told my stubborn Minneapolis friends to make the journey to St. Paul and check it out. Well worth it.

Handsome Hog has an amazing brunch menu! Everything we ordered was delicious with well balanced flavors. My friend had their Handsome Hog Hot Brown which was absolutely fantastic! The house ham was juicy and incredibly tender, the pecan bacon had a perfect balance of pecan and bacon flavor, the mornay sauce was rich and creamy, marinated tomatoes came on the side along with a cup of mixed greens, and the Gouda and the sunny side egg crowned the open faced dish with the egg having the most perfect run I've ever seen. I had the BBQ chopped salad which was exactly what I was looking for in a salad. Of course I ordered their Bacon Old Fashioned with a fancy ice cube that had a hog image in it and my friend ordered their **** Mary which came with a proper beer chaser which was again perfect; not too spicy, but definitely not mild. And the final drink that we ordered was a pineapple drink that was just as refreshing as it looked. Our server Amanda was excellent we never felt rushed, overlooked, nor was she overly attentive. Handsome Hog is a favorite brunch spot and I can't wait until they open their patio... it's one of the best in town! Five stars for their amazingly delicious food and five stars for our server Amanda.

Whoa! We came in expecting a MEAL. And we were not disappointed. Started off with a couple of stiff cocktails. Highly recommend you explore the drinks list. I normally like classics but at a place like this, I was glad to order something creative. Food was exceptional. Brisket was mmmmmmmhmmmm. Look at that fat cap! I still hear the sound of the fried chicken crunching under my teeth. Definitely come and expect to stay awhile. Service was excellent! We made reservations for a Thursday night and got in before it got too busy. It’s a casual place, your would not know it from the quality of food that is served here!
