For several years on the dach terrace of ox cart, so it was always a favorite in lowertown. our experience tonight was not great. the drinks were good and eating was good, so no complaining about the quality of their product, but the service was honestly pretty bad. it was a pretty busy night (Friday with a Saints game) so recognize the added business, but my friend and I sat at least two hours at the bar and literally never had a barkeeper actiw to ask us if we needed anything. we ordered three round drinks, two round dishes and eat, and each time we had to order someone down. I get that it was busy, but only one barkeeper has ever served us and the other has ignored us actiw / would not make any eye contact. not a good opportunity to return the charitable business, and hope they train their employees better forward. To be honest, if someone is connected to this facility, it reads: we wanted to give you money, and you wouldn't take it. that literally hurts her business.
The soft opening of this restaurant was disappointing. The live bands were not enjoyable and the wine list was incomplete. They also had trouble splitting the bill for our group. The location near CHS Field was convenient, but the food was just average. The steak sandwich was tasty, but the jalapeño spam balls were served cold and had to be reheated twice. It seems like they may be using store-bought frozen food. Thank you for trying to make things right at the end of our meal.
While I had some ok experiences on the dach, the experience turned me off last night. Incapable of making a reservation online, I called three times without answering zero voicemail. my reservation request was not denied (via e-mail) until an hour before I was hoping to eat there with a friend who made me find somewhere else on a Friday night. neither one of us wanted to pay for the parking lot, etc., just to find that the place has a private party or have permanently closed last week. I have spent too much time looking through their website, checking emails and calling them to come with nothing. — with all the shifts during the pandemic, information about restaurant closures is rarely updated on their websites Google business site so in the position to get a hold or a reservation online is the key before they plan their evening there.
Do not be misled by old reviews, Ox Cart is not the same as it used to be. I visited before a Saints game and was informed that it was still their soft opening. The beer was not up to par, indicating issues with their tap lines or mix-ups with their selection. The food was average, nothing exceptional. The location is fantastic and I hope they can resolve their issues before fully opening up to the public.
