I tried a mango protein smoothie, and it was absolutely awful. It was supposed to have a variety of fruits in it, but when I watched them prepare it, they just used a powdered mix and added tap water! The coconut milk it was supposed to contain was included in the powder. And to top it all off, it cost $12 for a small cup! This experience makes me hesitant to eat anything at Don Cesar.
The former location was undergoing renovations, but they never brought the ice cream parlor back. The new spot is quite small and has no seating, lacking the charm of the original. There's really no incentive to visit now. I strongly urge them to bring this beloved ice cream parlor back to its original location.
I want to begin by sharing that my husband and I consider ourselves ice cream enthusiasts. Uncle Andy's offers incredible ice cream in a lively atmosphere, which made us want to return almost every day during our visit! This place is truly a hidden gem in The Don and should not be overlooked while you're in the area. Additionally, the staff is wonderfully cheerful and witty, adding to the enjoyable experience.
This place used to be Uncle Andy?s Old Fashioned Ice Cream. It was incredibly charming, had maybe 15 handmade ice cream flavors, and was just a happy place to be. Now, they?ve moved it closer to the pool, turned half of it into a convenience store, and cutit down to the eight standard flavors (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, etc). I drove halfway across the state just to get theirSuperman flavor that they had for as long as I can remember. The half convenience store, half ice cream shop just isn?t the sameas what it used to be.
No gelato, although it is advertised as gelateria. super disappointing
