With new owners, the pastries and sandwiches are now very disappointing. The delicious quiches they used to serve are no longer available. The server seemed embarrassed by the poor quality of the croissant sandwich she gave us, though she did offer the coffee we had ordered. Ultimately, it's best to avoid this place.
I went to this restaurant with my family and immediately felt something wasn't right. The kids enjoyed their poutine and hot dogs, which are difficult to mess up, but the espresso allongé was terrible. The panini pulled pork and macaroni salad were also disappointing and of very poor quality. It's a shame because the prices are high and I expected better quality food.
While the latte my husband ordered was satisfactory, the regular coffee I had contained an unpleasant amount of ground coffee at the bottom of the cup. Our daughter did not enjoy the éclair she selected, making it the first dessert she has ever refused to eat. My Napoleon Millefeuille was disappointingly frozen and unappetizing, leading me to discard most of it after just two bites. Overall, it was a letdown. It appears that this cafe may prioritize transient customers over establishing a loyal clientele, as evidenced by the lack of attention to service quality.
Tried the breakfast which was acceptable, very much a standard minimum effort breakfast. Service was pleasant and we were givwn the seniors discount which was appreciated. Refills of coffee were served
Friday evening when we were there, our server was run off her feet as they were noticeably understaffed. Expensive small portions were in order. Things had speeded up Saturday when we returned.
