Restaurant Esmeralda Sur-Lac

This was our second visit to this restaurant in the last couple of years and each time even with no reservation, they were able to accommodate us. It's our chance to practice our poor French and the staff always seems to understand! Food is excellent and we weren't rushed through our meal. Beautiful view of the lake - a relaxing enjoyable evening.

They have great service, good Italian food & an amazing setting. The daily catch (doré) was delicious and the veal was cooked to perfection. For dessert, the tiramisu and the creme caramel were amazing. I would certainly go back with my family.

We had supper at Esmeralda on a Friday night.. Restaurant was quiet. 6 out 8 of us ordered pasta. Every dish lacked flavour and seasoning. I personally ordered the carbonara.. It was watery and full of chunks of black pepper. No flavour. My nephew ordered the cannelloni with cheese. That tasted sour almost spoiled. Other dishes were the same.. Watery and no flavour. No sauce stuck to the pasta. Service was ok.. But would not return cuz food was very disappointing. And $$$

The food was delicious, I enjoyed a pasta dish and my wife a steak. The service very good, we never felt rushed and enjoyed the wonderful ambiance and sunset from the terrasse. The only drawback to this delightful restaurant is perhaps the price. Two table d'hôtes orders + a coffee ran us a tab over $100 after tip. So while the food and service are very good, there are several venues in the area that offer better value.

Best service I have ever received in my life. We were welcomed as family, the place is a very cosy chalet establishment. the food portions were amazing and the service was incredible. Everything is home made Italian food, where the owners are the chefs. We order from the table d'hôte, and received appetizers, entrées, main meal, desserts, tea/coffee and even got offered limoncello ( digestive) for free by the owners. The prices are great. The wine selection is good, which we order with the meal. Noemi was our waitress and she offered us a different selection of wines for our meal to compliment the food. I ordered the chicken carriatore and my boyfriend got the seafood platter. We ate everything on our plates. Which is rare. After we order the desserts which is all homemade, from tiramisu, angel cake and Italian ice cream. I strongly Recommend this place to everyone. Fine dining at its best.
