If you have a few extra hours to venture to the island, after visiting Quebec City, definitely worth the detour! Food, service, farm, and view were wonderful!
Wonderful little place family owned just off the side of the road. From other reviews I heard great things about the hamburger du coin pork and duck) and I can honestly say it was delicious! The cheese apparently is unique to Canada the owner politely informed us. A must stop if you venture into the Île d'Orléans.
We had the duck burgers which were delicious. The fries were crispy and meaty fried in duck fat. Yum! The only downside is priciness. 2 drinks 2 burgers 1 fry =45$ and resident dog bothering you for food.
I heard about this place in an article about Quebec things to do that were recommended by locals. Since I had a car (getting to the island is easier with a car instead of a cab i went to check it out. I was late getting to the island so I had to rush and find my way there. I got there just before they closed, but that was ok they were there to help me out. I met the resident dog (Confit and had a chat with someone there (in French! and learned that I was, in fact, at a duck farm! After a few recommendations, I ordered the poutine (perhaps the best poutine I have ever had and a duck burger topped with foie gras (and despite feeling guilty about the foie gras, the people there reassured me that it was not done in a cruel way to the ducks . Everything was so good, and everyone was super friendly. The place is not cheap but its also not overly expensive, and the menu has some interesting things that I would try if I went back there. This place is a local secret and is definitely worth the trip. Since the island is a great place to visit for a day, it shouldn 't be hard to work this into your trip.
