A regular place to stay as we journey from our ferry crossing to Zeebrugge, knowing that a friendly welcome awaits. Rooms, though not enormous, are pleasant and there is ample space for a break. Always clean and comfortable we enjoy the experience of a stay...in a home typical of the region. The food, both dinner and breakfast, is of excellent quality, well prepared and presented, using locally sourced ingredients. Ample private parking available so all in all, a near perfect place to stay. If requires, English is spoken. We have stayed here many times over more then a decade, and will continue to do so s long as health permits the travelling.
We visited this hotel restaurant on a cold evening and were welcomed warmly - including a roaring fire! Coats were taken and hung in a four poster bed (you have to see it!) and seated at our table. We chose the 30€ menu which included a terrine made from the local hunt's catch (hare and boar). Delicious. Then my husband and I chose the pink medallions in an award winning cider sauce. Dessert was Tarte Normande (a large slice of apple pie) served with vanilla ice cream and then flambeed at the table with calvados. Amazing. We had an excellent bottle of Bourgogne for a very reasonable 23€. All in all, a really good meal made with local ingredients well worth the money. Definitely recommended!
We came here at the end of a short holiday nearby and had a really lovely evening. The staff were great, with helpful advice. The dining room (and make sure you book - it is only got 8 tables) is very nicely proportioned with a huge wood burning fire on one wall - depending on what you order, you can watch it being cooked! Also some very nice details like the lovely table ware. The food is great - several fixed price options plus a la Carte. We went for the 33 euro menu, which was excellent value and lovely food. The sauces were an absolute high light - and the traditional orange sauce for the duck was spectacular. Apple tart flambé-ed in Calvados was a visual highlight as well as delicious. An eclectic wine selection - we had a well matched red.And a real winner for us was the atmosphere in the dining room - a wonderfully French formal informality which made for a great evening.
Four of us went to this restaurant for Sunday lunch, on the recommendation of the gite where we were staying.I really find it impossible to fault anything about the restaurant - food, service, price were all fantastic. We each had a main and dessert, with a bottle of cider and coffee (petit-fours included with the coffee). We staggered away, full of wonderful food, at a total cost of 125 euros. We had guessed the bill would be 150-190 euros - this is the bargain of all time. The food was excellent. We had duck (cuisse and magret) and steak. All perfect. The dessert was Normandie cuisine - my tarte normande was superb. It's impossible to rate this restaurant too highly.
