The staff was a mix... a waitress was very friendly and polite and the other was terrible and...rude. This was the only game in the city when we visited, so it was a good choice, and better than eating at Utah Beach. But not wonderful.
We stumbled across the Creperie Montoise on our way to Utah beach. 16 year old son pronounced his ham and cheese galette the best he's ever had (and he loves them). He ordered two. I had the most incredible baked Camembert which was a special,...with cold meats, salad and a baked potato. I'm not a fan of Andouilette and when I asked for it to be left out, I was immediately offered an extra portion of one of the other meats (hello saucisse sec). Deserts were also to die for, especially my favorite, a Dame Blanche. The ice cream is produced locally and it is gorgeous. It was so good a meal, we ended up returning on the last day of our holiday as we traveled home. Just as good on our return. Really good value and lovely helpful staff just complete the experience. We will definitely want to return here.
We stopped here for lunch during the celebrations for the D day landings. The village was buzzing and very busy. The lunch we had was the plat du jour, which was charcuterie and cheese with bread and potatoes . It was delicious! The service was...excellent, food tasty, hot and varied. The atmosphere was also very good. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We ate out many times during our holiday in France and this was the best we had had so far and also the best we had during a six week holiday! Excellent no else could describe it!
Six of us were on our way to the invasion beaches and stumbled on this beautiful little town and were delighted with the lunch we had. the two young ladies who tended us were happy to please and efficient. the charcuterie board featured baked Camembert...to dip potato and fresh meats from the local butcher and moule from the local fish monger! Its right across from the church square
We happened upon this quaint restaurant on our return from Utah Beach. Situated in the center of town just a few kilometers from the beach and on the main street. The food was simple and elegant and highly enjoyable. We enjoyed Kronenberg 1664 along with...our lunch. Good service, reasonable prices.
