So happy for it. This restaurant had everything, behind thick hedges, a country charm all its own and a waiting employee to our failed attempts to speak French and catering to our American mother tongues by a menu in English and clearly describe the dinner options to facilitate our selection. Best, meals were cooked to perfection by my wife delicious Sirloin to my daughter Risotto and my fish of the day in a juicy sauce. It was also our first time to try one of the apple wine selections from the Calvados region, and we found it and the wine pairings with the meal lovely. We appreciate the friendly arrangement of the staff and (I think it was) the attention of the owner to make us a safe ride back to our accommodation in Luc Sur Mer ca. 80 km away. Will definitely go back there if we ever visit the region!
We really enjoyed our dinner here when we stopped through Normandy. It was recommended by our hotel. We took the place three. I had a soup, fish and amazing dessert. A large red wine was also served. It is a beautiful, cozy place that was just the right thing for what we needed while we travel around. Very friendly staff!
We booked this place having heard good reports. The decor and ambience are good; the tables are well set with real cloths, not plastic or paper, linen napkins etc. Quality cutlery and crockery. However, the food was average compared with the image and layout of...the restaurant. The surroundings/grounds are also pleasant and well-maintained. I had expected haute-cusine for a restaurant looking like this one does but I could get this kind and quality of food town centre, much cheaper. I would not return unless the cuisine changes. Service was very good, on the other hand.
We had a wonderful group dinner here really nice spot way out in the Normandy countryside near the beaches. The restaurant had a country kitchen feel (warm and welcoming), with great cider. The food was good (it was Chicken for our group meal), and...I think it would have been better if we could have ordered off the menu. It was a nice stop on our journey.
