It has been 3 years, but this is the most memorable diner ever. I want to return before I die or before they close up shop. To watch the owner/cook was like watching a symphony. No credit cards. Food is great. Service is as well. They just don't make them like this anymore.
This place is great! Fast! Good pricing, the chef is a treat to watch, he’s incredible.. small, cozy, good music. 5 star greasy spoon.!
One of my most cherished memories of Salamanca. My father always referred to the place as Cheap John's and was a regular there. The food was simply brilliant, and I would sneak a peek at the chef, the late Bob Fish (and his father before him), who was a skilled master chef. He would effortlessly handle 20-30 orders at a time without a single mistake. He was rightfully considered one of the best chefs in the region. My personal favorite was the meat loaf special. Unfortunately, the restaurant is temporarily closed, but I hope it won't be for long. When I am back home, I definitely want to visit again.
