She said Thelma 's had the best buffet around, and she wasn 't stretching the truth at all. We had a party of 8 and were seated in the back near the buffet. The waitress was friendly and very attentive with our drinks and rolls. The food? They call it 'soul food ' on the Google listing. Oh my goodness, it was delicious! Even the green beans were better than any that I 've ever made! The mac and cheese was my favorite vegetable. The seasonings would soothe anyone 's soul! My hubby loved the pork chops and country fried steak. The gravy was amazing, and my kids especially enjoyed the fried chicken. We were stuffed, then realized that dessert was included with the buffet price. So we had no choice, we had to try one of the homemade goodies. : The orange cake tasted exactly like an orange dreamsicle ice cream. The banana pudding was amazing. But the Hershey 's chocolate cake is absolutely the best one of all. We all came home moaning with full bellies, took a long nap, and woke up with a newly found love for soul food. This is our new favorite restaurant, and we definitely plan to be regulars there.
The food was excellent. Ms. Thelma fed our college tour group from Detroit. The best soul food on town and soothing and welcoming ambience. Well worth the drive. Thanks to Ms. Thelma and her entire team for serving 90 of us.
Monday, Aug 7 was my first time coming! We drove 45 mins to come to this place for dinner! I give it a five because the food was tooooooo delicious!! But the waitress we had was not the best! She did not refill any of our drinks and she missed one of the plates that my husband ordered. I would definitely come back tho, but would prefer better service!
We ate at the Mooresville location today. Service was excellent. Fried chicken, dipped and non dipped, Fried Pork chops, Fried okra, lima beans, potato salad and sweet cornbread and sweet tea. Meats were cooked to perfection. It was all yummy!!! Can't wait to go back and try the livers!
Downtown off fisher st is the best place to relax eat and wallking distance from the college.
