I went for a cheap week in the sun and had a very good time. This hotel was a big part of that. At first glance this area of Salou seems a bit run down but appearances can be a bit deceptive. The hotel apart from a bit of missing concrete on the outside wall has clearly had a lot of money spent on it. The communal areas are very nice and the restaurant bar and pool areas are easily up to a four star standard. Reception staff are very efficient and pleasant and will assist with any enquiries. The staff in the restaurant are lovely and the food is really very good for what is a three star hotel. There is a very big choice at breakfast and evening meals had some very nice cuts of meat. I was not expecting it to be this good. The bar staff can be a bit patchy but maybe that was me. The location of the hotel is excellent . There is a very lovely beach to the front of the hotel just around the next street and two other lovely bays . Salou has very nice beaches with shallow water. There is a bus stop just outside and I would recommend trips to Tarragona and Reus which are both very interesting. If you are very ambitious you could also go to Barcelona from here relatively easily ,and there are trips to Andorra even. The buses are very good value and you can buy a Bus familiar ticket from the Bus Plana kiosks down the street . There are various cards but the Familia costs 2 euros and initially gives you eight journeys. If there are two of you that would be four return trips. When its exhausted you can top it up for 6.5 euros and you get another ten trips. A return to Taragona worked out at about 1.2 euros. There are some complications with it bit its a good basic system. Salou has had a fair bit of money spent on it and both it and Cambrils for the most part are pretty decent . There is a bit of a Brit/Irish pub sport scene which is not for me but there are plenty of other options. I would not hesitate to go back to this hotel. I forgot to mention it also had some very good entertainment which was also better than many higher rated hotels I have stayed in. However it is pretty loud till about half past eleven so maybe take earplugs if you are not wishing to participate in that.
Lovely hotel, room had twin beds comfy aircon was good, food was excellent with wide range of choice we were half board. Pool was ok in shade for a lot of the day annoyingly there was building work going on opposite so noise was a problem
