Dim Sum House - Salt Lake City

Very good laune here. probably a “5” but I must compare it with my fav spot in the san francisco area. However, I have some new dishes that were excellent and the service was pretty good. the only failure I would report was that the Shanghai dumplings soup in a bag was not what I am used to and not much broth in the dumpling. I missed this edgy too, that I like so much. but not as much as all others were super good!

Enjoy the dim sum menu that you order from a menu similar to a sushi menu where you mark your choices. the two seafood-based dimsum was delicious. we had several dishes like kung po chicken. I like more chiles for me, but I could shoot them with chili oil. that is placed away from the state street. the midday prices were a bargain.

First things first, when you come looking for Dim Sum House, bear in mind that it's location is slightly hidden. The parking lot is behind the building. You may have to double back. It's worth it. Dim Sum House is very reminiscent of a Hong Kong tea house. If you come during busy dim sum times 11:00 am 2 pm on Saturday or Sunday, usually , you'll experience the party of it all: conversation over fresh brewed tea, old school Chinese music, and dim sum carts with classics such as har gow shrimp dumplings , chicken feet please give it a shot, it's much better than your internal biases would suggest , and rice rolls shrimp is my personal favorite .

We ate at Dim Sum House at about 3:30 on a Friday afternoon today . The place is beautiful inside and very large. There were not many diners since it was early in the afternoon. We ordered pork dumplings, radish cakes, pot stickers, and something that looked familiar wrapped in rice noodle, plus hot sour soup. The soup was ok but pre made from a can . The pork dumplings were all fat and grissel. The radish cakes were burned, the rice noodle dish was a nasty lump congealed gluten. Dumplings looked right but were also not good. Great authentic dim sum! As good as Vegas or NYC dim sum. I highly recommend. Service great but most of the staff doesn't speak much English. Very nice. I'd definitely come back.
