Every morning I went from the hotel to the theatre, and every morning I held a small place called eva’s bakery on the way for my morning coffee. one morning, mr. beet, I myself, and a few friends with whom I decided to stay a little longer and take the breakfast/lunch instead of our usual quick visit. it was a beautiful early morning, so after we had put our order on the table, we took our coffee and sat outside on a table.
Cozy. it was pretty cool to see the racks of brot from where I sat. I have to apologize to the two French women sitting on my right. I can't help but on such a beautiful speech to eavesdrop the stuffed french toast is great. she doesn't care about the fruit. the filling is sweet, but it welds perfectly with the fruit on the toast. I am historically hesitant when it comes to being heated. I am very picky when it comes to something like that or a fruitcake. I come back to give the French wobbly soup a taste. if the toast is any hint of her ability, I expect my favorite soup to receive the treatment that deserves it.
Beautiful place. great service, beautiful atmosphere. I had frittata and cafe ole with mandelmilch. very conscious food selection, cage-free chicken and many organic and sustainable ingredients. the mood and the view of eva is fantastic. warm and yet professional.
Not nice employees. A year ago I took my son to Eva's several times. Great experiences. This year we were clearly not wanted there no one would take an order of a couple of take away croissants and when we finally did get them they were thrown at us, my card was slammed on the counter and my son, not prone to jumping out of his skin did. The two officious 20 something women behind the counter gave off the vibe of us behind enemy lines in their kingdom. Worse, the food was not anywhere as good as I remembered and overpriced for what it was.
Great European Style cafe. I ordered the Savory Bread Pudding and was pleasantly surprised. It was very well made and very tasty! Thumbs up! The cream puffs were to die for. The eclairs and macaroons were amazing!
