This place was incredible when it opened, but their first chef left about a year ago. When he left the menu shrank to 1/3 of what it had been and the food became good but not outstanding. Now they've been closed for health code violations. Such a disappointment. I had high hopes for Ho Mei BBQ.

I haven't had food like this since I left home! This is how my grandfather ate and lived. Peking Spare Ribs are a must. I really enjoyed the Roast Pork Wonton Noodle Soup. The crunchy pork skin took me back to when I was growing up.

Worth a return. The helpful server helped us fine tune our order to bbq spareribs (succulent but least memorable) , fish with cilantro, and spicy green beans (the biggest hit of the night..I order these often in Chinese restaurants and this was one of the best renditions I have had). A cosmopolitan companion introduced me to the evaporated milk/fruit/shaved ice concoctions. <br Pleasant, well kept up room with good natural light. Became quite noisy on a Sunday night as large family groups arrived.
