Of course we ordered Mango lassi for drinks. Service is very good and team is very friendly. We already have been several times after our first visit, honestly still doing things amazing!!!! We didn't have any expectation for this place, was the first time for my husband and me. What a great surprise, wonderful customer service and amazing food. I had lentil soup, spicy, very spicy but tasty, hubby had tomato soup, very good too. Garlic Naan, my husband had Lam Rogar Josh, I have Chicken Coconut Korma. We try also the Mango shake. Everything was delicious, good job!!!
I went here about a month ago and I did not write a review until today. The food at this Indian restaurant is okay, but the service and ambiance are terrible. The owners are clearly trying to cut costs, as evidenced by the dirty hallway to the bathroom and the lack of English skills among the waitstaff. The waiters do not even get tips, which is why they provide such poor service. The kitchen is constantly noisy, and the overall atmosphere is unpleasant. In order to improve, the owners should hire more English-speaking staff and pay them a living wage. They should also make some basic improvements to the restaurant, such as cleaning the hallway and the office. If they do these things, the restaurant could be much better. Pay your waiters the tips!! until they explicitly state they pay the waiters the tips, do not leave the tips for the owners. Or when leaving, give cash to your waiters directly (To their hands)
This place used to be really good before COVID hit, but ever since then, it’s continuously gone downhill. It seems like they lost a lot of their staff because the food has a lot less flavor and is significantly less spicy. The service is downright horrendous. They never seem to give you refills, and the staff does not try to follow health codes. In a past visit, I found hair in my food. This latest visit, the tables and chairs were disgusting, our napkins were dirty, and our waiter, while giving us to-go boxes, dropped them on the floor and did not bother getting us new ones (I will add that they’ve always had a problem with being sanitary). The waiter also seemed to be irritated by something and created a very uncomfortable atmosphere whenever he was around us. Many people have been asking if they've changed ownership, which they have not, and they have no clue as to why people are asking them this. I don’t plan on coming back here unless they seriously address all these problems, but from their lack of knowledge of the current situation, I doubt they will.
I usually don’t write reviews even when I have bad experiences at any restaurant, but today tandoor disappointed me so much. First of all, the phone was not reachable, I had to call their holladay branch to ask if Millcreek location has received my online order. I placed online order through their website because the call had been going straight to voicemail for about 20 mins. When I was able to get a hold of them, I told them I ordered online through their website which took me to toasttab website. I placed order worth $80. I even called to make sure my order went through and he confirmed over the call what my orders were and told to come in 15 mins and it should be ready. I went after 20 mins, food was not ready, waited for another 15 mins there.the restaurant also smelled weird that my son 3 years old) was saying it’s stinking and covered his nose. The guy at reception came to check my order thank god I had screenshots. I told him I called a little ago and was told me to come in 15 mins. There were only 2 tables occupied so it was not a rush time that time. He came like 3 times to ask me if I paid I told him on call that it’s paid), check for order proof again for couple of times. Not sure why he had to check it again and again. There was no apology for wait time. When I got home, all my food tasted like old and heated up. One of my curry didn’t have salt at all. Naan looked old and Gobi Manchurian was hard to chew on. Dosa had no flavor at all, potatoes inside masala dosa was very sour. I ordered all my food mild as we have kids at home. But one of my curry has literally red chili . I’m very familiar with Indian food as I’m from India and I have eaten their food before. But this time all the food I ordered had no flavor at all and did not taste fresh. Tandoor has changed a lot for worse. Go to other Indian restaurants. Saffron valley was closed on Monday otherwise I would have ordered from there.
Previous reviews about the service are true. The restaurant was quiet when we came in. Only one other table was sitting when we arrived. Our appetizer didn't come until the end of the meal, after asking the server where it was. Then it showed up 5-minutes later, cold... the naan never showed up. Just before bringing the check he asked if we still wanted it. They hadn't even made it. Not sure if the server forgot, or the kitchen did. We noticed that they do more takeout orders than dine-in. Perhaps they are mistakenly prioritizing the take-out over the people sitting in the restaurant. Otherwise, the dosa and chutney were actually decent. I recommend trying another place.
