Im very happy to find such restaurants in Salta, which are surprisingly a growing phenomenon. Yes, i love empanadas, asado and traditional regional food, but as a local, lets be honest, it gets boring and we need gastronomical diversity and options. I wouldnt reccomend it to a french guy visiting Salta, obviously, go for regional food, but i definetely do for Salteñans who love food and taste outside of tradition. The ambience is great, very well decorated and energizing environment. They also have a full bar with quality spirits and wines. Their service was great, very kind and attentive, but I would suggest more training of the personel specially when it comes to presenting/explaining/suggesting food and drinks. To start with I ordered a quinoa and goat cheese empanada, which was perectly cooked and very flavoursih. I also got smoked salmon with crunchy potatoe chips and beautifully made maracuya sauce. Both were excellent. As a main dish i got "bondiola de cerdo glace" which is pork beef slowly cooked up to a point it shreds, with fruit chutney and andine baby potatoes with a glace sauce. Tasty and well presented. For the dessert i went for a "chocotorta" which is a typical "grandma dessert". It was very nice, not to sweet not boring either. Portions sizes were fine. Pricewise, for people who appreciate the art of gastronomy, i would say it is quite fair for the quality offered. Definetely reccomended, and will definetely come back to try all of their menu. Congratulations to the chef and the owners for having the courage challenge tradition in such a conventional city.
I have been three times to this place. It is very nicely decorated. I usually have the pasta which is good, ok. I tried one the hamburguer and was quite dissapointing. They may struggle a bit with the service when the place is crowded. The overall experience was good, the decor is very nice. One big piece of advice to the owners; it's unacceptable that you don't keep your wines/champagnes in a cellar or fridge. The 3 times happened the same thing, all their wines are at room temperature or worse it was next to the light spot in the exhibition where they keep them. One time we ordered the best and most expensive champagne on the menu, and had to put it in an ice bucket for 30 minutes before we could drink it!
