Resto Maam - Salta

My wife and I stopped at Resto Maam for lunch. I had the maam salad while my wife had the Ceasar salad (the Ceasar salad was good, but not similar to the typical North American Ceasar salad, so don't expect it). Both salads were very... good, but both had far too many crumbs in them. The salads filled without the whole bread we usually left. Service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant was clean and conveniently located on the main square.

After MAAM I was peckish for something fresh and light after several days with meat, empanadas, deception, wine.. I chose the goat cheese salad and asked if it is possible to have it with some tomatoes and carrots - I have a wonderful bowl, for the same price!... And the tea was filled. Try their desserts, sweet energy kick! The TV showed football, you can be disturbed by him or, feel like a local and take a moment of their lives. Definitely back for empanadas and wine, maybe some lama

We had stopped a coffee here in the morning and it was a nice clean restaurant so we could taste local dishes for a main meal and a chance. The waiter explained clearly what they contained and we chose cazuelo de cabrito goat...stew. it was sustantial and really quite delicious. This is also reasonable. Worth a visit if you feel adventurous and want to taste local dishes.

We have done a lot of research on where the best empanadas in Salta (because we are food). This place was not very often mentioned, but we stopped here on a Monday when other places were closed and we were hungry and tired. We were back three times in the city in our two weeks! The Empanadas are among the best we had. Order them 6 at a time as the locals do, they are always hot. The platform tables offer a magnificent view of life on the square. Service is very relaxed, so not in a hurry. Prices are about the same in all casual restaurants in downtown - it is always a cheap meal.

This place is right outside the museum on the main plaza, with a lot of seating outside making it an ideal place to people watch. We have stopped here twice for coffee and juice because the location is so great. The coffee is pretty good...as well, and the same waiter is always there and is very very friendly. Unfortunately- although friendly, the staff is also incredibly slow. What should be a 10 min stop is upwards of 45 minutes.. For coffee. Sometimes the staff will avoid you if they know you want something and getting their attention can be a struggle.
