Subway - Saltash

Lazy staff and unprofessional opening times. I arrived 10 minutes after they were supposed to open, but there was no one around. It doesn't seem like they would be opening anytime soon, which was incredibly frustrating after a long drive. Service rating: 1 star.

I was in the process of requesting that the cheese be taken off my sandwich when a rather hefty employee with numerous piercings approached me. He outright refused to accommodate my request, claiming that it was against policy to alter the sandwich. I couldn't believe what I was hearing—I've never encountered such nonsense before! I even considered eating it anyway and then suing him for the trouble. Interestingly, even his coworker seemed taken aback by his reaction. So, I decided to walk away from the situation and went straight to the Burger King behind me. As you can imagine, they gladly removed the cheese for me!

I visited this place yesterday with some very hungry kids. The server seemed to be new and clearly had little idea of what he was doing, which isn't entirely his fault as it appeared he had received minimal training. The sandwiches he prepared were barely edible; one was burnt, and the portions were quite meager—just about five pieces of sweet corn, a sprinkle of salad, and a tiny bit of mayo. When I asked for coffee, I regretted it. Another employee came along who was quite rude, particularly to the new server. Instead of assisting him and guiding him through the process, he merely scolded him, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere for both of us. I understand it's just a Subway, but no one deserves to be treated that way. I won't be returning.
