I had the cheese fondue which was excellent. My kids had the spaghetti. The service was good but not overly fast. Prices were a little high but not uncommon for a ski resort town. Enjoyed it enough to come back again the next day. The restaurant is a short walk downhill from where the trail first reaches town.
Let's start with the drinks... one Coke was missing. This took at least 15 min to solve this. Then the soup arrived. The ones having soup finished their meal well before the first pizza arrived. Then it took additional time (10-15 min) before the second wave of pizza arrived. If going there, do not expect that you are served at the same time.
The restaurant offers a wide range of different dishes. However this place is not targeted for a vegetarian as any form of meat dominates the menu. I have tried the beef filet which was cooked to my liking (rarely the case in restaurants), very decent size and well cooked veggies. The second time round I opted for the "Wienerschnitzel" which came with 5 (!!) different vegetables which were cooked right to the spot….a big compliment to the chef. The wine list is not too large but very reasonably priced. This is also the case for the food, not cheap but very reasonable.
On 21st of february we have (4 persons) visited restaurant at Vital-Hotel. Ambience is set in typical swiss-country style with lederhose and womandresses. This is also the case for tables with half of sitting consisted of half-round benches. Menu is accordingly similar consisting of a lot of meat but there are also pizza's and pasta (more or less tourist kind of choice). Meat is reasonable well prepared, yet I had some doubts if real lamb was served since the structure was quite dense ans colour rather pale. According to the waitress it was New-Zealand lamb. Desserts are classical, part of them are industrial dairy products.Service is friendly yet just profesional and distant. Very effective, like we expect Switzerland to be !?In summary do not expect high standard or exceptional food, but just reasonably prepared and served. With 50 euro pp you find out the real standard of Switzerland.
